Caustic soda flakes, market by market
The chemical is the same NaOH wherever it lands. Everything around it — the import declaration your broker files, the language your safety data sheet has to be in, the certificate of origin that sets your duty, the port that makes sense for your warehouse — is decided by the destination country, not by the product. So we keep a page per market: the specific rules, the specific ports, and the specific split of paperwork between your desk and ours.
Two markets are documented in detail today, and more follow as buyers in new markets ask us the same questions.
Indonesia
Indonesian importers know the material as soda api. Clearance turns on your NIB carrying the right API class, a consignee that matches your NPWP, and an Indonesian-language MSDS with GHS labels.
Vietnam
Vietnamese importers know the material as xút vảy. Vietnam’s new Law on Chemicals came into force on 1 January 2026: the old declared-chemicals list is gone, and every import in HS Chapters 28 and 29 — which includes caustic soda — must now be declared through the National Single Window before customs clearance.

If your market is not listed yet, tell us the destination port and we will set out what your entry needs — see how to check a Chinese supplier before you pay.
